|About the Book|
Northeast Asia is set to witness a rapid expansion of natural gas use in the next few decades owing to increasing demand for power generation, and growing environmental concerns over the use of coal. China, in particular, is developing its policy of gas use, both liquefied natural gas and pipeline supplies. This will significantly affect both Japanese and Korean patterns of gas trade within the next ten years, and will make a circular pipeline connecting the Russian Far East, Japan, the Korean peninsula, and China a realistic possibility. This unique study provides a comprehensive overview of these changing patterns, and their implications for the region as a whole.
